  • Kaloud Lotus heat management device or similar HMD

  • Tongs for coal handling
  • Toothpick or small tool for airflow holes

 

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Hookah Base

  • Fill the vase with cold water and a few ice cubes, leaving about 1 inch of space from the stem for bigger clouds and richer flavor. For a wider-stem hookah, go up to 1.5 inches.
  • Assemble the hookah securely.

  1. Heat the Coals

  • Light 2–3 natural coconut coals until they are glowing red. If using Kaloud Aura, go for 3 pieces. For CocoBrico Lotus Cut, 2 pieces are perfect.
  • Place the coals on a stove or burner while you prepare the bowl.

  1. Pack the Bowl

  • Divide the bowl mentally into four quadrants.
  • Start with 50% Starbuzz Vintage Honey Dew Me packed in two opposite quadrants (at 6 and 12 o’clock).
  • Add 50% Fumari Ambrosia to the remaining two quadrants (at 3 and 9 o’clock).
  • If using a third flavor, adjust proportions to 50% Honey Dew Me, 30% Ambrosia, and 20% White Peach or Guava, placing the lighter shisha slightly on top of the darker ones for contrast.
  • Lightly press the shisha down, ensuring it doesn’t touch the heat management device (HMD). Use a toothpick to poke small airflow holes.

  1. Heat the HMD

  • Place the Kaloud Lotus (or similar HMD) on the stove for about 1 minute to preheat. Be careful not to overheat it, as this could burn the tobacco.

  1. Assemble and Heat

  • Place the HMD on the bowl and add 2 coals across from each other. Close the Lotus lid completely.
  • Let it sit for 2–3 minutes as the flavors and heat settle.

  1. Begin Smoking

  • Take a few slow, gentle puffs to get the smoke flowing.
  • After 4 minutes, rotate the Lotus lid to open it completely, allowing more airflow. Ensure the coals are centered and not touching the edges.
