A heat management device, or HMD, is a metal lid that sits on your bowl and holds the charcoal above the shisha instead of directly on foil. It controls how much heat reaches the tobacco, which means fewer harsh pulls, less ash, and a much longer session.

Is a Lotus better than foil?

Yes, for most people. Foil burns unevenly and needs constant coal management. The Lotus distributes heat evenly, keeps ash off your bowl, and lets you open or close the lid to raise or lower temperature mid session.

The Lotus is designed for Kaloud Samsaris bowls and fits most standard hookah bowls. For lipless bowls, the Kaloud silicone sleeve creates a snug, stable seal.

How do I clean a Lotus HMD?

Let it cool completely, tap out the ash, then wash with warm water and mild soap. Avoid abrasive pads so you do not damage the finish.
