The Kaloud Lotus III is the third-generation Lotus heat management device. It sits on top of the hookah bowl and holds lit coals inside a vented chamber, off the shisha. The lid vents and rotating handles adjust the heat. It comes in aerospace-grade aluminum and in stainless steel. Kaloud targets 130 to 220°C at the shisha.

What is the Kaloud Lotus III?

Why does heat management matter?

An HMD keeps the coals off the shisha and spreads heat more evenly, which reduces hot spots. In three Kaloud in-house tests with a Lotus I+3, a related Lotus model, the hottest reading at the shisha was 219.2°C, across sessions of 81 to 91 minutes [2]. What is the difference between the aluminum and stainless steel versions?
Material and weight. Aluminum is lighter. Stainless steel is heavier and has handles on both the lid and the base.

How is the Lotus III different from earlier Lotus models?

Pack the bowl, seat the device, add lit coals and close the lid.
- Pack the shisha into the bowl.
- Place the Lotus III on the bowl.
- Place fully lit coals inside the device.
- Close the lid.
- Give the bowl a few minutes to heat through.
- Use the handles and lid vents to adjust heat during the session.
How do you clean the Lotus III?
Let it cool fully, empty it, rinse it and let it air dry.
- Wait until the device has cooled completely.
- Lift it off the bowl and remove the lid.
- Discard the spent coals and ash.
- Rinse the device with warm water.
- Let it air dry before the next use.
